Couch Potato Chronicles

Good things come to those who wait.

Well over 1 3/4 years ago, I started working on an idea for a potential web series. I shot the pilot, plus a 2nd episode in 2014, just to prove to myself I could do it. Then, after lots of thinking, I knew I was in love with my project and decided to make it a full blown series and shot the rest of the season in 2015.CPC 2.19.16

“Couch Potato Chronicles” first and foremost strives to make people laugh, but it can also be seen as a commentary on how human connection becomes more difficult with the growing distractions of Television, Media, modern technology and, oh yes, the Apocalypse.CPC TVs 2.19.16

It boasts a diverse cast of Latinos, including yours truly and is heavily supported by Inner Circle Theatre, my friends and my beloved family. I’m so proud of my creation and I’m eternally grateful to the cast, the crew and all the above folks who helped along the way.CPC Thank You

We may have started shooting Couch Potato Chronicles in 2014, but we hope to take the Internet by storm in 2016!

It’s true. The best things in life are worth waiting for.

Helping + Your Talent = Purpose

We actors living in Los Angeles are a lucky bunch.  We get to pursue our dreams in an artistic city surrounded by hundreds of thousands of creative people.

This summer I was convinced it’s my turn to start giving back, coming from such a sunny place in life.

I started volunteering with Tails of the City Rescue Organization and realized I have lots to give to these dogs and cats.  That’s why I’m at Petco La Brea in Los Angeles almost every Saturday spending quality time walking and entertaining all my favorite rescues.  That’s why I get to post content on the Tails of the City Facebook page.  That’s why I’m running the Race for the Rescues 5K on 10/24/15, to bring attention to Rescue animals and raise funds for these great organizations that protect them.

Staged Reading @ The Blank

Last night I had such a fun experience being apart of the staged reading of, “Modern Prophet,” at the Blank Theatre in Hollywood. I got to play an angel, attend 3 whirlwind rehearsals, be apart of an ensemble of talented actors, receive insightful and thoughtful direction, AND I got to stuff my face with Doritos on stage. Good Times @ The Blank Theatre’s Living Room Series!

Where Dreams Come True

When I was thinking of my next post, every single recent adventure that came up was a direct result of my relationships at Inner Circle Theatre.
Where Dreams Come True Short Film
“ICT” is my weekly workout as an actor where I get to stretch, play and learn. Not only that, but ICT is where I have created and fostered some of the most meaningful connections I’ve made my whole life. Here are a few things that ICT did for me last month:
Inner Circle Theatre Shout Outs
1. Booked a sweet short film.
2. Experienced an inspiring afternoon @ the Getty Villa and saw, “La Olla.”
3. Rescued me after locking my keys in my car.
4. Shared dreams with other actors every Wednesday.
5. Helped my friends and they helped me!

I’m a lucky actress to get to experience adventures and continue pursuing my dreams with Inner Circle Theatre.

The Doll

Lainnie Felan and Aqueela Zoll
Recently, I’ve been helping out during Inner Circle Theatre’s first production of the 2015 season, “The Doll.”

I’ve been having great new experiences ticket taking, learning sound board, and watching the actors and behind the scenes crew band together to create a truly unique experience for theatre goers.

“The Doll,” comes at the perfect time of year when new couples are budding and relationships are being celebrated during Valentines Day. This funny and heartfelt play examines Marco’s mistakes of relationship’s past and gives him a hopeful view of what to do in the future to truly love a woman and share a life of mutual respect. And the actress holding up the magnifying glass to Marco’s past mistakes is the effervescent Aqueela Zoll! Her physicality is astounding and her grasp of the technical language is solid and delightfully executed. Jordan Randall, who plays Marco, is uber likeable and sympathetic in a role where a man does everything wrong, but ultimately we root for him and are almost tear struck when he makes a revelation about lasting love and true friendship in the end.

This is a great play to see for everyone who has ever been in a relationship or for anyone who longs to create meaningful companionship with another human being.

I’m so glad to be helping with this production and I look forward to the rest of Inner Circle Theatre’s 2015 season!

The Doll runs through February and tickets are available here.
